On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Define a Blood Borne Virus (BBV)
- Understand how blood-borne viruses are transmitted
- Identify the most common BBVs of concern (pathogenesis and transmission)
- Understand how PPE can help prevent infection from BBVs
- How to handle sharps and avoid sharps injuries
- Understand why immunisations are required, and which immunisations are available
